Saving DNA is not NEW
The idea and practice of saving DNA for future regeneration cloning is neither new, or crazy.

Because governments around the world have for years not only been storing seeds but also the DNA samples of people ‘they’ think are "too special and too valuable to lose" in official government-run underground gene banks.
Like The Doomsday Vault and On-board the International Space Station.
WHY? As insurance to re-establish humanity in the event of an unstoppable global epidemic or pollutant adversely affects the population's genetic fertility or other major global catastrophe.
